This is our study of the soils that compose the land around Scenic Highway; we got this from GIS data provided to us by the city, and from a division of the USDA that conducts soil surveys.  Mostly this informed us that the areas we’re studying are composed largely of Troup Sands and Lakeland Sands, that are very sandy, well-drained, and support very specific communities of plants.  We’ll use this as we consider any new plantings that we propose for landscaping along Scenic Highway and the in parks along it.
